Parents of adolescents never tire of topical subjects related to risk—sex, drugs, bullying, eating disorders, driving safety—because these are the areas that generate so much parental anxiety. It may take a philosophical shift to have the ongoing focus be strength-based prevention. It will involve convincing opinion leaders that one of the best ways to address risk is by building strengths.
